Stratigraphic

$30.00

Stratigraphy is a branch of geology dealing with the classification, nomenclature, correlation, and interpretation of stratified rocks. In Stratigraphic, the viewer enters through the mouth of a cave to discover interior formations paired with ceramic rocks. The rocks were created in the studio by combining two different stoneware clays that were carved into various forms. Within the sequence, they are presented as specimens that might have been discovered within the depths of the caves. This imagined landscape includes photographs of caves located in Wisconsin, Oregon and Vietnam.
